Torrelavega and Colindres will host the penultimate concerts of the Historic Settings Programme.
26/08/09.- Today, Wednesday 26, baritone Iñaki Fresán and pianist Juan Antonio Álvarez Parejo will be performing at 21.00 in the Concha Espina Municipal Theatre,Torrelavega. Tomorrow Thursday 27, in the Church of San Juan, Colindres it will be possible to listen to soprano Elisandra Melián accompanied by pianist Ricardo Estrada, also at 21.00.
Baritone Iñaki Fresán has won prizes at different International Competitions.The Salzburg Region Foundation for the Development of Art, Science and Literature awarded him the prize for the Promotion of Canto Singing at the Mozarteum Sommerakademie. He has worked with important conductors:: Spivakov, López Cobos, Gómez Martínez, Comissiona, Marriner, Pons, Savall, Maag, Mund, Varga, Fournet. He has performed in Gaveau, Champs Elyseés and Opera Cómica, París, Nice Opera House,and in Montpellier, Gulbenkian and San Carlo in Lisbon, Konzerthaus in Vienna, Queen Elisabeth Hall and the Barbican Hall, in London , the Pillar Room in Moscow , the Riga Philharmonic, San Petesburg Philharmonic, The Glocke Hall, Bremen, The Avenida,Buenos Aires, Nezahualkoyolt,Mexico DF, the theatres of Treviso, Parma, Roma and Regio Calabria in Italy. He has performed at the Santander International Festival, Granada, Peralada, Cadaqués, Navarra, the Grec in Barcelona, Semana Religiosa, Cuenca, Quincena Musical, San Sebastián, the Organ of León Cathedral, Torroella in Montgri, París, Tours, Saintes, Mozart and Autumn Festival Madrid, Musique an Morvan, and the Arte Sacro, Madrid.
Pianist Juan Antonio Álvarez Parejo made his debut in 1980 at the Palau de la Música in Valencia accompanying Teresa Berganza, to then become her habitual pianist performing at International festivals, and the most prestigious auditoriums and theatres in the world. With Iñaki Fresán he has performed recitals in major concert halls and International festivals: Auditorio Nacional de Música, Madrid, Teatro Principal de Mallorca, Teatro Rosalia de Castro, Coruña, Real Coliseo de Carlos III de San Lorenzo del Escorial, Teatro Julián Gayarre ,Pamplona, The Malaga Philharmonic?s Sala María Cristina , the Palau de la Música, Valencia, the Avenida, Buenos Aires, The International Festival of Torrolla de Montgrí, the Quincena Musical in San Sebastián. He is a teacher at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid
In March 2008 he won the XXVI ?City of Logroño? International Canto Competition as well as the prize for the Best Zarzuela interpreter and in May of the same year he won First Prize at at the XI Manuel Ausensi Competition held in the Teatro del Liceo, in Barcelona. He has given different lyrical concerts : in Madrid (March 2008), Zamora (April 2008), for the Asociación Amigos de la Ópera de Madrid (April 2008), Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (April 2008) and for the new Asociación Amigos de Perez Galdós in Las Palmas (April 2009). He has just placed the role of Sandrina in the opera de la ópera L?infedeltá delusa by Haydn at the Toulon Provence Méditerranée Theatre in Toulón (Francia) in anew production by L?Académie Européenne at the Musique-Festival Aix-en-Provence, conducted by Maestro Jérémie Rhorer, scenography by Richard Brunel and accompanied by Le Cercle de L?Harmonie orchestra. His forthcoming projects include his debut role as Barbarina in the opera Mozart?s Marriage of Figaro Mozart at the new opera season at the Teatro Pérez Galdós in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, conducted by Iván Fischer and stage direction by Emilio Sagi.
Ricardo Estrada has performed many concerts both in Spain as well as abroad (France, England, Italy, Belgium, Andorra and Japan), collaborating with figures such as Inva Mula, Raquel Pierotti, Carlos Alvarez, Ana María Sanchez, Chiara Taigi, Carlos Cosías, Kenneth Tarver, Stefano Palatchi, or Antonio Gandía. He has been repetiteur in singing competitions with maestros Jayne Casselman, Tomas Tomasson, Eduardo Giménez, Isabel Penagos and Enric Serra. He opened the Catalunya Opera Season (2005-6) alongside soprano Miki Mori in Sabadell. He participated in the recital at the award ceremony Ópera Actual (2006) accompanying Josep Carreras and José Manuel Zapata. He is the official pianist at the ?Francisco Viñas? International Competition and the ?Manuel Ausensi? Internationl Competition in Barcelona, and the ?Montserrat Caballé? Zaragoza Internationla Competition.
