Cantabria Schola Gregoriana and Stuttgarter Barock Collegium will feature in the Historic Settings programme this Sunday 23rd August
22/08/09.- The Abadía de Viaceli, in Cóbreces will play host at 11.30 a.m. to the Festoval Mass with the choir Schola Gregoriana de Cantabria conducted by maestro Lorenzo Lizaso. Later at 20.15 on the same day, Stuttgarter Barock Collegium will play at the Sanctuary of La Bien Aparecida at 20.15.
The group Stuttgarter Barock Collegium is made up of two trumpeters, Eckhard Schmidt and Rudi Scheck, and organist Christian-Markus Raiser. During his career Eckhard Schmidt has been invited to play by most of the great international and German orchestras such as NDR Symphonic Orchestra, Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, Symphonic Orchestra Bamberg, Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne, Chamber Orchestra Stuttgart, Chamber Orchestra Heilbronn, Orquesta de la Ópera de Barcelona and the Real Filarmónica de Galicia to name but a few. Eckhard Schmidt has worked alongside conductors of the calibre of Christoph von Dohnanyi, Christoph Eschenbach, John Elliott Gardiner, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Herbert von Karajan, Roger Norrington, André Previn or Helmuth Rilling. Rudi Scheck was the first trumpet of the Student Orchestra Tuebingen from 1983 to 1987, with which formation he toured several times in South America. In 1985 he founded the Stuttgart Baroque Collegium. Their first recordings appeared in 1986 and 1989. In 1992, 1995 and 1999 they recorded for Publishing House (Holzgerlingen, Germany). In 1995 they collaborated with Südwestfunk from Baden-Baden.
Further engagements have included work with the Ludwigsburg Schlossfestspiele, Bach-Collegium Stuttgart with Helmuth Rilling, as well as sporadic collaborations with the Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra. He plays as solo trumpet in Bach cantatas and oratories as well as in the trumpet group. He also plays the ?natural? trumpet in performances with ancient instruments. His packed concert schedule has taken him all over Germany and abroad, where he chiefly plays alongside the organ, his specialist area. He has attended many Master classes. Between 1986 and 1991 he sang in the local protestant church of Renningen. En 1990 he received his teaching title in Sacred Music and Baden-Baden awarded him a post graduate grant .From 1990 to 1992 he was a supply teacher at the State Music School of Trossingen. From 1991 to1996 he was master organist at the protestant church of Stuttgart-Untertuerckheim. Between 1995 and 2000 he held the post of organ and improvisation teacher at the Heidelberg Sacred Music Academy. Since 1996 Christian Markus Raiser has been master organist for the choir at the protestant church in Karlsruhe as well as artistic director of its cycle of concerts. In 2007 he received the title of sacred music artistic director. His performing career has led him to perform in many concerts and participations at International music festivals in Europe and South America, with many recordings (edited by musica rinata and copyus), as well as recordings for radio and TV, and with compositions with different orchestration. He is also Choir Master at Bachchor Karlsruhe and also of the vocal group CoroPiccolo Karlsruhe.
