J. Javier Gastón will perform in the Sanctuary of La Bien Aparecida on Thursday 20th August

18/08/09.- The Sanctuary of La Bien Aparecida hosts a new organ recital by J. Javier Gastón,on Thursday 20th August at 19.15. This recital is part of the Historic Settings Programme of the 58th edition of the Santander International Festival.

J. Javier Gastón began his musical Studies at the Sanctuary la Bien Aparecida and continued them in Salamanca And Bilbao (piano) and San Sebastian and Madrid (organ) obtaining a variety of awards. Since then he has participated regularly with different maestros, festivals and courses. He is deeply grateful to M. Gruyard, P. Perdigon, M. Radulescu, Zender and in particular Montserrat Torrent. He has also formed choral groups. Currently, he is responsible for the organ at Verdalonga de San Salvador , Leganés where he has created a cycle of concerts , which in turn has become a meeting for disseminating organ music, especially ancient Spanish organ. This has now been running for 12 years and has featured over 150 separate events. Outside organ playing he is a teacher.
