New performance of the musical West Side Story on Sunday 23rd at 16:00

10/08/09.- The musical West Side Story can also be seen on Sunday 23 at 16.00, a new performance that has been added to the three peformances on Saturday 22, Sunday 23 and Monday 24 at 21.00. The Santander International Festival has decided to place tickets on sale for the new Sunday 23rd performance, due to the great demand for tickets.

West Side Story opened for the first time on 26th September in the legendary Winter Garden Theatre, in New York, directed by Jerome Robbins. Later, in 1961, Robert Wise immortalized the score in his famous film.Ever since, different versions of the show have been produced around the world in many languages.However, preserving the original version of the Romeo and Juliet story set in New York of those days is another matter, and this is the proposal with this production that commemorates the 50th anniversary:a version faithful to the orignal Broadway production. With the same set and choreographies,this revival of that West Side Story which premiered three months ago in Tokyo, has been successful in LOndon and Paris, and can now be seen in Santander on 22, 23, 24 and 25 August.
