Tomorrow, Tuesday 4th August, concerts in Noja, Sobrelapeña and Suances in the Historic Settings programme
03/08/09.- Tomorrow 4th August, the Historic Settings programme of the Santander International festival moves to Noja,Sobrelapeña and Suances to offer different shows.
The Ensamble Andalusí de Tetuán can be seen in the Gardens of the Palacio del Marqués de Albaicín in Noja at 22.00. Ulzhan Baisussynova & Ardak Issataeva will also be performing tomorrow but this time in the church of Santa María de Sobrelapeña at 20.00.
In the Ancient Fort in Suances Armonitango with Antonio Serrano will be playing at 22.00.
The music of the Ensamble Andalusí started in Spain thanks to the Arabs who entered Andalusia, and further with the immigrants from the Middle East who settled in the North of Morrocco and in Al-Ándalus. Andalusi music was enriched by the mixture of the most diverse of oriental music expressions and the traditional local music of the specific places.
Ulzhan Baisussynova & Ardak Issataeva are two singers who represent the wealth and diversity of female culture in Central Asia. This female tradition is completely in line with the two great axis of central Asian civilization: the nomadic tribes and the settled tribes.
Armonitango is the title of the latest album recorded by Sony BMGes el título del último álbum que ha grabado para Sony BMG and is a tribute to the music of the meastro Astor Piazzola from an organic perspective some way between Jazz, Latin and Flamenco. Antonio Serrano is one of the most internationally known Spanish jazz musicians of his generation n la actualidad. In Jazz he has collaborated with top ranking figures such as Jorge Pardo, Luis Salinas, Rosa Pasos, Chano Domínguez, Javier Colina, to name but a few and in the world of flamenco he has worked with Paco de Lucia, Enrique Morente or Vicente Amigo. During his career as a soloist he has performed with the symphony orchestras of Belgium, Cologne, Heidelberg, Kiel and Istambul among others, playing originla concerts for the harmonica by H. Villalobos, M. Arnold, V. Williams and so on , and arrangements by G. Enescu, G.Gershwin o R. Korsakov. Antonio has been a member of Paco de Lucía's group for the last 4 years and has been on three world tours.
As a session musicican he has recorded on more than 150 collaborations with Pedro Guerra, Joaquín Sabina, Ana Belén, Víctor Manuel among others, and on soundtracks such Carne Trémula by Pedro Almodóvar
